Kids and idol

Naomi is 4+, and she likes Justin Bieber, and of course, she likes taylor swift, Selina Gomez etc... I think it is ok for her to like them but not crazy about them. Some of you might tell me it's too early, but it's just like we adult like Jacky Cheung(ok lar, a bit old but he is coming for concert end of the year mah...), we like westlife, beyonce, we like Akon etc, we don't find ourselves to have any problem with it.

I always taught her to remember Jesus comes first, then family, then other things that she likes. She is a bit more mature probably because I do not pamper her too much. She needs to share housework because she is part of the family and she won't get any reward from there; she sleeps on her own; she likes to keep up with her older cousin whom she think she's cool; and all in all she is just a natural adult. She is sharp, she is observant and she is very detail when it comes to things around her ( not academic learning though). She sees things that i always missed, she could just catch my hint and my tone from the way I talk. She is loving, she is kind, she always give in to her sister that sometimes I feel bad and heartache to see her "sacrifices".

So since she is still doing great and behaving well, I don't see her liking idols would be that big a deal. Parents guidance is important too! She totally understand that those singers are for us to like, not to love, she even told me this "mummy, they are not our family. so we like them, we don't have to love them. " :)

Back in MY....

It's been really busy back home.... lots of cleaning up, and thanks to my parents who came back to MY earlier, they helped to clean up a lot! And lots of kai kai to go.... yeah, we are free like a bird, we can go anywhere we want now! So I basically take Naomi out everyday!

Naomi is so happy to be in her car seat and listen to her children hymn in the car. She can sing lots of children hymn in full. Sometime I am very impressed, she just sang them to me only I realized she's able to do so.

I am pretty lazy to write... and this is my girl having her favorite ice cream.

Thai food in China...

After a few months in China, we've tried out a few Thai restaurant and so far, this one is the best... it is called Yam Thai 鑫泰. Not too expensive, 3 adults and 1 child, the bill came up to be RMB300 with about 5 dishes. The ambience is very cosy too. We have been there for few times...

I have to say their food is pretty authentic, and quite delicious. Too bad they don't have the clear tom yum soup, it has to come with the coconut milk in it which I don't really fancy. It's too lemak. However, the taste is wonderful...

What I find the best is their claypot brinjal tang-hun.... It is very very tasty. :)

Japanese food...

It's weekend again. We went to return our safety gate in Ikea as it needed to be drilled. Ah, too much trouble, I got another one from a very nice online seller. Here, I wrote about it.

After that, we went to this Japanese Restaurant in Coastal City. It is the biggest Japanese restaurant in Asia, it claims. Indeed, it is huge! The ambience is great, we got a tatami room upstair. It has a huge variety of selection too, and kids friendly as well! They have cute sushi for the little one!

We waited not too long for the food as it wasn't that packed. The food... not fantastic. I expected the food to be as great as the place... and I expected too high I guess.I didn't bring along my camera, so I took the pictures with my 2.0 mega pixel handphone, hence, the pictures are not so clear....

Blah-ing

My lil princess is going to be 20 months soon.

She is a chatter box now, talk non stop, it's getting a bit annoying sometimes that I wish she could keep quite for a while... But she is still adorable most of the time.

During my grandma's funeral for 3 days, she's been very cooperative, not too much of noise, sleep well at night and has no problem with all the relatives... She knows that "ah tai"(great grandma) is with Jesus now....

Sometimes, I still miss my gandma, though we were not totally that close as I don't speak very good Hakka when she only knew hakka , but knowing that she's not around anymore, it's kind of sad...

Pretty little cupcakes....

If you read this and here, you'd have guessed it's me. I took the opportunity to try out her cupcakes and oh my goodness, they were so pretty that I didn't feel like eating them. They were so adorable! This lovely lady was nice enough to squeeze me in for 2 dozens and they were so so so yummy!!! Penang folks, go go, go kacau her and ask for more.

Go and read the entire post here.

They are just so pretty!

Happy belated mother's day!

This is belated one from Mummy in Vain. So sorry, I was away on a short trip to Penang, and that will be updated later.

So what have I done on Mother's Day itself..... Three of us, my sis, my bro and I, we bought our dearest mother a Coach handbag, a Coach wristlet and a Coach mini skinny.... Ok, don't ask about the price.

Then that night, we have some really yummy Greenview Restaurant Salty Egg Crab, ooooh, soooooo yummy. Oh any present for me...er... hmm... nope, but I still had a great one! :)

Spoiled... temptation....

I had to pay for an ugly bracelet that cost RM12.90 just because Naomi didn't want to put it back to the rack. And she gave it to another girl who's on the swing after 15 mins to trade for the swing.... *faint*

My parents totally, completely indulged me when I was little. My dad would buy me most of the things I want(not need) with no question asked. And now, I find myself doing the same thing for Naomi as well! And truly I knew she doesn't need them, like those toys, clothes, or whatever she picked up in a toy shop.

I was spoiled, and I am repeating the process of spoiling my own. We went shopping for another kid's present and we normally ended up with something else for my lil one. I am started to worry that in the future, my girl won't take no for an answer. I seriously don't want her to grow up thinking the whole world owe her a living..... I do really worry.

Now, let me learn; learn to stay away from temtation. I, as a parent have to change the thinking, change the behavior. I'm sure Naomi will adapt faster than me, it is "me", the problem.... Let's pray for Vivian, Amen.

Parcel...

Yeah! Got the parcel today from her. Naomi loves them so so much. Especially the Beepo bear inside the playhouse bag which contained another signing kit. She actually know his name is Beepo....
And those new signing DVDs, Naomi just loves them, kept asking me to repeat the dvd. Naomi will imitate the talking books and speak most of the words! I am glad she learns well....
It is very very pleased to see her progressing so well. But only 1 thing, i think she's in front of the TV too much. Bad credit for mummy.... :(

Baby Sign....

Naomi is 15 months old. She is very very talkative, and started to link up the words she knows to form a sentence. E.g, Naomi-play-toys-outside; mummy-nan nan-here-room. So she did expressed herself very well now. That make my life much easier as she understand me better too! She does tell me if she wants to eat, to sleep, to poo-poo etc.... so goood.....

Looking back those days before she started talking, ahhhh, a headache. Luckily I was talking to a pretty mummy and she told me about baby signing.... So I did give it a try. And hey, surprisingly naomi picked it up very very well. She managed to pick up the sign of DOG, FAN, BATH, EAT , etc... within 1 month time. That, I was impressed that Baby Signing actually helped me to understand my daughter's needs! Papa Sze wasn't very sure at first but after seeing Naomi's progree, he is all happy! I seriously thank Jamie from BabySign for having this wonderful course for us!

Recently I just ordered another few books for Naomi. Can't wait to get them!

First time in zoo....

We brought Naomi to zoo for the first time in her life, Singapore Zoo! I've taught her quite a few animals and she recognized most of them. i.e. tiger, lion, zebra, giraffe, orang utan.... She got so excited when she saw them, right in front of her.

It is a lot of fun actually. I won't mind taking her there again, just that I wish she will sit in her stroller next time. We took turns to carry her and all of our shoulders were aching that night....

Baby Einsteins DVD....

A nice lady bought this whole set of 23 DVDs of Baby Einstein which they claim to make babies smarter for me from Australia. I am very thankful but I personally do not encourage baby to spend too much time on TV. I think babies are born to interact in order to learn.

Anyway, I still tried to put 1 or 2 to let her watch. Unfortunately(or luckily), she didn't like it at all. She kept turning away. She'd look for her picture books and want me to talk and explain to her everything in the picture books. She is pretty good with recognising the pictures. She can point out more than 20 pictures in the book though it's been only 1 month plus I started with her.

So, for the set of Baby Einsteins DVDs, it will be in the drawer for as long as it could be......

Papa Sze's movie session in Thailand....

Papa Sze is not coming home this weekend, so he called and said he is going to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" in one of the cinema nearby his hotel. Since I can hardly go to watch movie nowadays with Naomi so clingy to me, I will have to let him go watch it alone...

After few hours, he called again and told me his experience in Cinema. Here goes, he bought the ticket and went in to the cinema, found his seat, happily he sat down waiting for the show to start lar. As usual, movie previews, advertisements..... and all of a sudden, everyone just stood up! Papa Sze got all shocked and thought if it's the fire alarm or something, he prepared to run.... then other audiences started to sing in Thai; he looked at the screen and realised that there's the photo of the Thai King... so he guessed everyone should be singing "I love Thai King" or something like that... He quickly stood up and opened his mouth to pretend singing as well (God knows why did he wanna do that). Finally, the movie started... and the movie ended.

A boring show he said, but what an experience....

Durian Chips....

I don't eat durian. I cannot stand the smell, I practically hate it. However, my parents, my parents-in-law, and my dear husband, love durian so much. Still, they are not allowed to eat durian inside the house, I will feel nausea if I smell too much of Durian. I know, troublesome right? Now I am praying hard that Naomi won't love it, so there's another reason for not having durian at home.... muahahahaha...
Few days ago this Thai friend of Papa Sze, bought us 2 packets of durian chips. She said this is a very famous local junk food. When I knew it's made of durian, there came my prejudice upon this food. I was not willing at all to try it but My mum taught me to be a polite person, so I tried a bit and to my surprise it doesn't taste durian at all! And I have to say it is quite tasty, not too sweet and crispy. The Thai friend said that it's made of "baby durian", that's why it's not too sweet.
Ok now that I eat durian chips, that does not mean I eat durian, so Papa Sze, don't try your luck to bring durian home, alright? DON'T! Thanks for being such an understanding husband. Muak!
